The best way to care for a Calken bronze, is to wipe occasionally with a soft cloth, using a soft toothbrush or shoe brush to remove dust from nooks and crannies.

For bronze sculptures kept outside, we recommend waxing once a month. For sculptures kept indoors, we recommend waxing every 6 to 12 months. The best time to wax is when the patina on your sculpture starts to appear dull.

It is important that any wax used does not contain cleaning agents as these can damage the sculpture.  We recommend something like Renaissance Wax, available from Tiranti. A thin, even coat of wax should be applied with a soft brush or cloth and then buffed.  Do not use any abrasive brushes. Allow the wax to sit and dry for between six and twelve hours before polishing. A second coat of wax will add additional gloss if desired.
